Hooks Herrgård is an old manor house in the Småland forest, with a putting green out front and a lake right outside the windows. Behind the classic facade it's all warm wood, big glass walls and views of the water.
We spent most of our time in the spa: a steaming pool behind glass walls, looking out over the trees, and a bright yoga studio. In the evening we ate in the restaurant with the lake outside, with toast topped with roe and a glass of white wine.
Our tip: get up early and grab a window table at breakfast. On a cold morning the mist lies over the lake while you have your coffee.
