Walk in under the orange trees, stay for the sunset over Menton.
L'Orangeraie is a grand yellow Belle Époque building in Menton, with blue balconies and a long path lined with orange trees leading up to the door. It's a beautiful hotel, and it felt cosy from the moment we arrived.
The rooms are fresh and bright, the breakfast was really good, and the staff were friendly the whole stay. The location is perfect too: everything in town is within easy reach, but the garden makes it feel calm and green.
Our tip: ask for a room on a high floor facing the garden, and be on the balcony around sunset, when the sky turns pink over the pines and the rooftops of Menton.
