Come for the coffee, stay for the croissants.

Nomad in Weligama is part café, part bakery, part little shop, all under a thatched roof with rattan lamps and plenty of greenery. The pastry counter is the first thing you see, and it's hard to walk past.

We came for coffee and stayed for a long breakfast. The shakshuka arrives bubbling in a cast-iron pan with grilled sourdough, the toasts are piled high, and the almond croissants are as good as they look.

Tip: grab a pastry for later on your way out, and take a look around the shop corner while you wait for your food.

What to order
