We came to see elephants, they came to see us.
We headed out on a jeep safari and it didn't take long before a whole herd was crossing the track in front of us. Big ones, small ones, and one baby elephant that wandered right in between the jeeps.
The light was soft and golden, the dust hung in the air, and everyone in the jeep went completely quiet. Seeing them that close, just going about their day, is something we'll be talking about for a long time.
Tip: bring a camera with a bit of zoom, but don't forget to put it down and just watch.
